Training videos with AI
You need to teach a process at work and want AI to help you make the video.
Make a short training video that teaches a real process, using AI for the slow parts and keeping the checks.

Your project
Pick one process you need to teach in your own work. Every lesson adds a piece: the questions, the script, the storyboard, the production plan, the release checklist and the follow-up check.
The worked example
Larkfield Supply
A 40-person office-supplies distributor. Its training coordinator, Riley, needs to teach 25 staff the new returns process in the order system.
How the course works
By the end, you have a short video plan for one real process, with questions that show whether people learned it.
The course works through four stages: check first, script for the ear, produce honestly, and measure learning. Each lesson says what the research found and where it stops. The tool lesson uses prices read on the vendors’ own pages, with the date. The consent lesson covers the laws that now apply to AI voices and faces. It is not legal advice.
The four stages
- Check first
- Write the questions a learner must answer before you write the script.
- Script for the ear
- Write the way people speak, and cut what does not serve the task.
- Produce honestly
- Choose voice, avatar or screen recording, get consent, and disclose AI.
- Measure learning
- Ask the questions again weeks later, and watch the task on the job.
Each lesson moves your project forward
- Lesson 1 · 7 min readDoes it need a video, and a presenter?Decide whether your process needs a video at all, then whether it needs anyone on screen, using the image principle and the substitution test.
- Lesson 2 · 7 min readWrite the check firstWrite one learning objective and three to five scenario questions before any script, so the video teaches what the check asks.
- Lesson 3 · 7 min readScript for the earWrite narration from the real process document, in spoken words, with the extras cut, and lock it before any voice or video is generated.
- Lesson 4 · 7 min readStoryboard the segmentsSplit the script into short segments, tie each on-screen word to the narration, and show one full worked example before learners try.
- Lesson 5 · 8 min readVoice, avatar or screen recordingCompare a human voice, an AI voice and an avatar platform on sound, consent and cost, with prices read on the vendors’ pages on October 15, 2026.
- Lesson 6 · 7 min readConsent and disclosureWhat EU and US law say about AI likenesses of real people, a written consent checklist, and a disclosure line every viewer can see or hear.
- Lesson 7 · 6 min readCaptions, QA and packagingMeet the WCAG rules for video, build captions from the script, check the final render, and test the exact file in your LMS before release.
- Lesson 8 · 7 min readCheck that it workedMeasure learning with scenario questions after the video and weeks later, add a three-item manager checklist, and plan how the video gets updated.
Every starter prompt from the course is on one page: the prompt library.
Do I need a video tool or an avatar subscription?
No. Lessons 1 to 4 and Lesson 8 need only Claude or ChatGPT. Lesson 5 compares screen recording, AI voice and avatar tools, with prices read on the vendors’ pages. Many training videos need no avatar at all.
Do AI avatars teach as well as a person?
In short studies, learners scored about the same with an AI presenter as with a human one, and enjoyed the AI version less. No study showed that avatars improve learning. Lesson 1 helps you decide whether your video needs a presenter at all.
Is the consent lesson legal advice?
No. Lesson 6 summarizes the EU AI Act disclosure rule and several US state laws on digital replicas, with sources. Ask a lawyer in your jurisdiction before you make an avatar or voice clone of a real person.
How long does the course take?
Each lesson takes about seven minutes to read. The exercises build one real video plan, so most of the work is work you would do anyway.
Not sure this is the right course yet? The free check takes about fifteen minutes and shows which skill to work on first.
