What if I score badly?
Then you are the only one who knows. Your free grade is private — there is no public page, no listing, and nothing is shared unless you choose to certify.
Do I need to take a course first?
No — there is no course attached. A certificate records that you finished the material; a certification records that you passed an examination. Emeri is the second kind: it measures how you already work, and if the free check turns up gaps, our free study guides cover every skill on the exam.
Can I use AI during the exam?
Yes — it is expected. Working well with AI is the skill being certified, so you are graded on the quality of the finished work and the judgment behind it, never on going without help.
Who decides my grade?
Published rubrics, written by people. An AI examiner applies the same criteria to every submission, so the standard does not drift between candidates.
Is the check really free?
Yes, and it needs no account. Certification is a single $189 payment if you decide the result is worth publishing — never a subscription.
How long does it take?
About 15 minutes in one sitting. The certification exam is 60 timed minutes.
What does an employer actually see?
One link: your band, percentile, and six-skill profile. They open it and see the result — no account, no login.
What if I don’t pass the certification exam?
A sitting below the certification floor is not graded — no badge, no band, no public record. You get your examiner’s written feedback, a pointer to the skills to study first, and one included retake with fresh questions.
Does the credential expire?
No. The credential is yours for good, recorded against the version of the standard you earned it under. Recertifying later is your choice — and a newer sitting never replaces your published grade unless you publish it.
Can I put it on LinkedIn?
Yes. Your badge page has one-click options for LinkedIn — share it as a post or add it under Licenses & Certifications — and the verification link works anywhere you can paste it: résumé, portfolio, email signature.
